Leah Rakabundel is a Broome based artist and mother, creating from the heart. Leah is passionate about the healing and uplifting power of art for individuals and communities.

Her art forms include painting, drawing, textile art, murals, screen printing, community arts and she and currently facilitates the art program at a rehabilitation facility.

Together with fellow artist Isla Birnie they have held several group exhibitions in Broome since 2016 named 'Los Bagus Collection' and most recently worked with Naomie Hatherley, Susannah Williams and Vanessa Margetts on the 'Mother Lode' group exhibition in 2021. Leah regularly enters pieces in the annual Kimberley Art and Photography Prize and Shinju Matsuri Art Awards, receiving a highly commended award at the 2021 KAPP. 

With a diverse and evolving style of art, Leah draws inspiration from colour, dreams, energy, the universe, nature, people, and most recently the experience of motherhood. In recent paintings Leah has explored collaborative processes with her young daughter Kisah.

Leah offers a range of creative services that can be tailored to suit your needs. These include the design and creation of murals, commissioned artworks including portraits, art coordination for community projects and facilitation of creative workshops.
